Faceless parents, fearsome world: Covid-19 restrictions enact sinister form of child abuse that may destroy entire generation — RT Op-ed — MCViewPoint

My dudes! Can we not find the humor in this? Age old practice smashed to pieces for the world to ridicule… this is a ripe opportunity to jump on the bandwagon of anti-traditionalism!!

Was it created in gest? Is the world ridiculing? Or has it just annoyed and shocked a lot of folk and traumatized an infant who will now be attending that church each Sunday subconsciously re-affirming his powerlessness in the face of tyrants?

False dichotomy. The intent or circumstance behind the art is not my business any more than the world’s perspective is. All that matters is the impression I take from it.
If the infant is traumatized or the congregation is shocked, my amusement amplifies in light of the general agitation.
Does the picture make you feel powerless?

False dichotomy, to you. Not to me. Intention is crucial, especially in art. I don’t feel powerless personally, b/c I’m not a Catholic trying to defend myself against a mountain of belief. I feel deeply for the infant, because I know how real early childhood trauma is, and how it lasts, and resurfaces when you least expect and can manage it.

Since the baby is in a Christening dress I’m assuming that this is a really sick, disturbing photo of a baby baptism. to me it looks like a water pistol because of the point at the end. If it were a a “no touch” thermometer it would have to be a lot closer. (so much for idiotic social distancing) The reason I assume this is that because of some awful medical problems my husband & I have visited several doctors, medical facilities & hospitals recently & have had to wear masks & be temperature checked every time we were to gain entrance. If anyone else is reading this differently I’d be curious as to how.

Now be careful what you assume, but I have to ask, ‘why are these laser thermometers made to look like pistols?’ Just saying. And remember, do not jump to conclusions based on my question.
