I was talking about slavery as we know it from the history books. Of course, much of it has been fudged or exaggerated (look at the ridiculous Atlantic slave trade story, for example), but hypothetically, if we are to take what they say at face value, it was essentially the same thing, but with a different look.
Ironically, even that form of slavery has never truly ended. Look at the prison-industrial complex here in the good ol’ U.S. of A. It’s rife with slave labor, and it’s sanctioned by the Thirteenth Amendment. I’m sure you probably already knew the details, but I just wanna make them visible to the readers of this blog who may not know.

I completely agree on both counts—don’t really trust the history books and films and yet, we can see the results all around us, no propaganda necessary. It’s in the slave mentality and in institutions like the prison industrial complex, which is so beyond appalling.
I don’t consider myself well-versed in our screwy system, please do share your thoughts any time you have the inclination! There’s not too many readers here, but in my opinion, every little bit of proper educating helps! You just never know what positive impact you might have on one individual who then pays it forward and makes a real improvement to things overall. We got here through incrementalism, right? Maybe that’s how we dig ourselves back out?

Ms. Fotts is correct, on all counts. It will start with low end repetitive jobs, and as AI becomes more efficient, it will weave it’s way into every single job market, bar none.

I think she is quite brilliant. The brilliance of the plan is not lost on me either, imagine the hubris on one side and ignorance on the other of the people who are paying (and playing!) and working to create their own chains and obsolescence.
