The Fact That Americans Need To Be Deceived Into War Proves Their Underlying Goodness — Caitlin Johnstone

Awww, this is too sweet not to share.  Not sure I’d agree most days and with most folks, but it’s lovely to give those who deserve it the benefit of the doubt and a moral boost once in a while!

Of course, her audience is those who already give a crap, at least a little one, not those whose spend their days at the beach and shopping and playing video games, which is a hell of a lot of time spent for a boat load of Americans.

Last night Fox’s Tucker Carlson praised Trump’s decision not to go forward with a planned attack against Iran which the president claims would have killed approximately 150 people in response to a downed drone, which if true would have been a profoundly barbaric response to a broken toy plane and would have led to retaliations…

Fear the Self? — Healing the Hero

Each time, wondrous, when I hear I’m not alone.

A good actor can change his physiology to reflect the character he is playing, old man, child, superhero, monster, adapting the body shape, posture, gait, and face to fit what he wants to project. In a similar but more subtle way people who have suffered developmental trauma, or have a domineering, overbearing, narcissistic parent will […]

On Authentic Spirituality — Caitlin Johnstone

How does she do it?!

An amazing individual with an amazing talent and craft, there’s little more sexy than that, imo.  Then spiritual as icing on that rich cake . . . Wow! 🙂

Spirituality, as it is implemented in our world today, is almost entirely useless. No, that’s not fair, I take that back. Spirituality as it is implemented in our world today has been very useful for giving people pleasant narratives to tell themselves about the nature of reality, for helping people to compartmentalize and dissociate away from…

Donald Trump Is The Most Honest US President Of All Time — Caitlin Johnstone

My sentiments exactly, only expressed with the precision and craft of a true professional!

I happened upon some pictures from Trump’s UK visit with Queen Elizabeth yesterday, which isn’t something I’d normally care about. The British royals are basically just oligarchs who rub your face in it, and the fluffy media publicity around a monarch of one murderous kleptocratic imperialist regime meeting the leader of another murderous kleptocratic imperialist…

The UN Torture Report On Assange Is An Indictment Of Our Entire Society — Caitlin Johnstone

I don’t share this story out of any real familiarity with this case, because I’ve started to avoid out of suspicion all massively-hyped stories, and therefor throw the baby out with the bathwater, which is a character flaw I’m trying to remedy.

Nonetheless, I trust this journalist, so I will share those pieces of hers I believe warrant it whether or not I have the time or inclination to sift through the data and speculation and most certainly some degree of political theater, for myself.

But even more, for me it speaks to something bigger.  It reminds me of the need to better understand strategy, and this TedTalk with Malcolm Gladwell is an excellent brief look at learning to see what we could be missing right under our noses.

On the eighth of April, shortly before London police forcibly carried WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange out of the Ecuadorian embassy, a doctor named Sondra S Crosby wrote a letter to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights requesting that the office look into Assange’s case. Today, following a scorching rebuke of multiple…

The Sea of Twaddle — Dispatches from the Asylum

Some sane words about the insanity, refreshing.

As the sea of twaddle rages on from the psychopath’s, diverting the attention of the unwashed with a steady diet of sludge on all that is unimportant, fed through a tether-line of their f**kery into the hand-held radiation devices the masses are addicted to, there is another “sea” out there – the sea of innocents, […]

This Talk Between Aaron & Gabor Maté Is The Best Political Video I’ve Ever Seen — Caitlin Johnstone

It’s good to be disillusioned?!  If it doesn’t feel good, Americans won’t do it, not willingly anyway.

He’s putting a high degree of hope on the notion that the American people will not just exchange one illusion for another, again.

And, again.

The Grayzone‘s Aaron Maté has done an interview with his father titled “America in denial: Gabor Maté on the psychology of Russiagate”, and it is the single best and most insightful political video I’ve ever seen. In 27 minutes it essentially describes the fundamental problems of our times, not just with Russiagate but with world politics…
